Saw it on the great Vine…ha….see what I did there

Sup People…It’s been a long time coming but I’m here to make you want to read more silly blog antics from yours truely. I just want to give a HUGE shout out to the people who have continued to come here and leave awesome comments even when I haven’t been using my blog.Thank you. But now, I’m here to hit you harder than that football player that likes hitting girls….wait that is probably tasteless…ANYWAYS..let’s get started! Sit back, grab a cold one (hopefully pumpkin ale because it is that time of year) and take your hand out of your pants because I’m always watching you and we don’t have a relationship like that…yet ūüėČ

So today I want to say how much fun Vine is. If you don’t know about it, then I’ll call someone to help you get out from under that rock you’ve been stuck under. It’s a social media site that gives the user a short 8 seconds to post a video ranging from funny to artistic. It’s a place where everyone can have their own show and attract followers. Some have even gotten tv deals and gained over 1 million followers. I like to use vine for laughs. I had an account a long time ago but I deleted it because the amount of spam followers were enough to fill a room of walking dead zombie extras (Walking Dead blog coming soon) But now, I’m hoping that Vine has corrected this mistake and has enough Vine security to make Edward Snowden scared to hack it. If you guys want to look me up, I’m on Vine under the name, DudeGuy ManBro (I know….how original..your mind is blown) Some great people to follow are below. So go check it out and make yourself famous!

Well, I’m not really sure where to start but it has been AGES since I posted anything. I see that People are still hitting this page and commenting with some possitive feedback so I thank you for that. I have a crazy busy life but I’m getting the itch to come back and talk to the people again. I want to talk about products, movies, people, things on my mind, games, random stuff….WHATEVER. I want you all to walk away from this blog saying, “I’m glad a read that”…and maybe even saying, “that must smell wierd”..or even…”It’s probably illegal to talk about that in at least 2 countries” In any case, It’s good to be back! I already have my first post in mind and I’ll be back soon.

    Your friend,

    Top 6 Horror Movies

Happy Halloween!! I like to consider myself a horror specialist. I only enjoy the highest quality horror film. And high quality doesn’t mean a big budget Michael Bay remake with girls from a CW show running with a wet t-shirt. Great horror movie don’t have to cost much at all. All they need is the ability to make you check the back seat of your car before you leave to go out at night. So that being said, I’ve put together a little top 6 list of great horror movies for you to watch this week as you prepare for the 31st. Enjoy!

    6. The Blair Witch Project

This film is arguably the greatest low budget horror movie of all time. It didn’t rely on CG monster or CG ghostly effect, and no gory effect need. This movie captivated viewers with it’s marketing ploy that this was a REAL story. Audiences were scared by what you didn’t see in this suspenseful horror great.

    5. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)

This movie really captures a raw fear with eerie music and scary characters that put the audience in the middle of nowhere with these terrorized teens. This movie has a reputation for being very gory but truth be told, there’s pretty much NO gor in the film. That’s how good it is at terrorizng your mind into fearing the unseen.

    4. Splinter

Here’s where the gore picks up! This movie puts a unique twist on diseased zombie movies. It feels like an homage to The Thing but it is in no way a copy cat. It also has one of the most eye popping mutilation scenes in horror history.

    3. The Strangers

This movie will truly scare you into being afraid of your own house. This film utilizes sound and visual paranoia to make viewers uneasy. It successfully scared the CRAP out of me!

    2. Trick r’ Treat

Not since the John Carpenter classic, Halloween; has a movie come along and really capture the essence of scary halloween themed movies. This anthology will take you on a rollercoaster ride of horrors with some enjoyable over the top stories and memorable characters. I didn’t find this movie scary but WOW did it quickly become one of my favorite horror films of all time. The child like pumpkin kid is truly the next iconic underdog slasher.

    1. Halloween

The all time greatest horror film in my opinion is Halloween. This low budget film took a William Shatner mask and turned it into one of the most iconic horror slashers to date. Carpenter really strikes fear into the audience by coming up with a film score that is still creepy today. The scares are simple but extremely effective and this horror slasher’s origin story is truly good and not just a hack and slasher.

Very nice list! I love that Trick r’Treat has got a mention because it is the quintessential Halloween movie that really captures the essence of Halloween and, while attempting to scare us, leaves its audience feeling nostalgic about childhood and with a warm feeling about Halloween.

The Blair Witch Project is a great horror movie. There are some supposed horror fans who attack it, saying it’s not scary and was overhyped. Thing is, even if I didn’t like it (I love it), I would still recommend it to others, because it managed to keep the horror industry economically afloat just when critics were hoping horror movies would stay off the big screen for good.

Interesting. I never ‘got’ Blair With When I saw it… certainly some gems missed from your list, such as [REC], High Tension / Switchblade Romance and of course, The Shining… but a few here I haven’t seen so will have to check them out.

    Split/Second takes on Blur

Crack open your piggy bank and count you cheddar. This May promises to be a big month for video game releases. Two big names taking the main stage are Lost planet 2 and Red Dead Revolver. But not to be out done, The racing genre has had some¬†steroids¬†and a dose of¬†adrenaline¬†pumped into it that re-invigorates racing games in a way we’ve never seen. Both games are done my different studios and¬†involve demolishing your¬†opponents in both single player and multi-player. It may seem that these games are similar but they are both VERY DIFFERENT.

BLUR is a heavily combat¬†oriented¬†game that takes real cars and gives them kick-ass weapons that create sonic booms, plasma blasts and shields that send your¬†opponents¬†into racing heaven. I’ll be so bold as to describe it as Super Mario Cart on some kind of illegal substance. This game was created ¬†by¬†Bizarre and they really made the¬†attacks¬†look colorful and damaging in a way that can only be described as beautiful chaos. You can play the beta now on x-box 360. The game hits stores on 5/28

Split/Second is a game that uses a very detailed physics engine that focuses on destroying your¬†opponents by¬†controlling¬†the environment around you.¬†¬†You can destroy plains, gas station, trains, and bridges. You do this by gaining “power plays” The detail in the destruction to both the environment and the car wrecks are beautiful. The camera angles and the in-game play is extremely detailed and gritty. The demo should be available very soon. The game hits stores on 5/18

If you ask me, I’m looking¬†forward¬†to both games but If I had to buy one, it would be Split/Second. I haven’t played either so i’m just going on reviews and what I’ve seen so far. What can I say, I’m a sucker for beautiful graphics and¬†destructible¬†environments. The game play looks a bit better than Blur and the attacks seem more realistic. I hope everyone plays both of these games and forms their own opinions.

    RUN!! It’s Godzilla…again!

Back in 1998, Roland Emmerich was riding high on the wave of his ID4 movie success and was anticipating the release of his follow-up Americanized take on Godzilla. Despite the studio’s Cloverfield like marketing campagne, the movie wasn’t well received by critics or audiences. Now America is at it again. Back in March, Legendary Pictures made an announcement that they will be bringing a new Godzilla Film to America. (without Rolland Emmerich) Sucks, there goes that ID4 vs. Godzilla movie we’ve all been hoping for. Well all has been silent about the film but this week, twitchfilm.net has what looks to be an early concept design of what the green giant may look like. According to twitchfilm.net, the pics were originally posted on flikr by a user who had been told by a “friend in the movie biz” that this was a design they were looking at. Another recent update comes from, Blood Disgusting and they confirm that the design is NOT official. Could this just be an artist going, “OOOOH OOOOH LOOK WHAT I MADE!!” You can click this link to check out more on the article, http://twitchfilm.net/news/2010/05/is-this-how-godzilla-will-look-in-the-us-reboot.php

    Transformers: The Prequel….kinda

Before Michael Bay blew lots of sh*t up. There was a kick-ass 80’s cartoon based on the popular Transformers Franchise. I think its pretty safe to say that without that great 80’s cartoon, we would never see Megan Fox leaning over on a motorcycle in Transformer: Revenge of the Fallen. Now thanks to Activision, we’ll be going back even further than the old cartoon in the new video game, titled, Transformers: War for Cybertron. This game takes place on Cybertron and the story focuses on the end days of the war. Right before the Autobots call Earth their new home. Visually, this game has amazing graphics and the character designs for both, The AutoBots and The Decepticons are truly stunning. Don’t expect to see designs that are inspired by the Michael Bay films. The team at Activision were inspired by the old 80’s cartoon designs but with a more updated look. The look is being so well received by the Franchise owners, Hasbro, that they’ll be releasing a toy line based on the video game character designs. Even the world of Cybertron looks unreal. It looks just like a war devoured robot planet would look! ¬†Activision wanted to make the game controls very seemless between playing as a robot and playing in it’s transformed state. With a click of a button, you change to transformed. I know what you’re thinking, “Oh no! now I have to learn a whole new set of controls because I transformed!” Wrong! Once you transform, the controls stay unchanged. Each button still controls the same action. Also be ready for your copy of Call of Duty to sit on the shelf and be berried¬†in cobwebs. Transformers is getting in the MMO (massive multi-player) game. Transformers: War for Cybertron will feature a robust MMO gaming experience where the player can design their own Autobot or Decepticon. You can play as four different classes of Transformer and the game includes everyone’s favorite MMO game types. Such as Team Deathmatch, Conquest, and Count Down to Extinction which seems really cool! From the gist of the MMO trailer, I think that game mode you just have to blowup the other team with a bomb that’s being tossed around like a hot potato. Transformers: War for Cybertron,¬†hits stores, June 22nd for all major game consuls and it promises to be a kick-ass ride. You can check out a trailer for the MMO part of the game at, http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/100824-new-transformers-war-for-cybertron-multiplayer-trailer or you can go to the game’s cool website at,¬†http://www.transformersgame.com

J.J. Abrams Top Secret Trailer Included with Iron Man 2

Can’t wait to see Iron Man 2? Well make sure you get there early enough to see the trailers. J.J. Abrams is at it again. Remember when J.J. Abrams first top-secret project debuted with a cryptic trailer that was seen in front of Transformers? Well it seems that another secretive monster movie project is being delivered to theaters. Reportedly, this super 8 trailer is said to be so top-secret that not even the theater is allowed to open it until the midnight showing of Iron man 2. Details about the film canister it arrives in are said to be that the protectionist will have to use a combination to open the locked canister. ¬†The rumor mill around the net is that this will be a sequel to Cloverfield. According to Latino Review’s insiders, The trailer depicts a bunch of kids shooting a movie with a super 8 camera in the 70’s / 80’s. After getting the film developed, they notice that there is an alien type creature in one of the frames. This speculation of an alien race is what’s making people jump up and scream CLOVERFIELD 2!!

An update via Latino Review from Vulture, actually got a word with J.J. Abrams and you can check out that update here,  http://www.latinoreview.com/news/details-on-abram-s-super-duper-secret-trailer-showing-in-front-of-iron-man-2-9899

According to J.J., This is NOT a sequel to Cloverfield but it¬†definitely will¬†be another monster movie. Let’s hope J.J. doesn’t go all cheesy 50’s monster movie in 3D on us. I personally thought that Cloverfield was a great movie. The marketing behind it was¬†GENIUS. In an age where people get all of that insider film info off of the internet, people were actually surprised again. It was a fresh feeling. Hopefully, J.J. Abrams will pull¬†another one¬†off again. Stay Tuned!
